Our goal is to continue Mr. Schmid's legacy with a large, LIVE ART AUCTION, SILENT ART AUCTION & Mountain Festival under the big top tent in Rist Canyon each Labor Day weekend. Each year, this event benefits the Rist Canyon Volunteer Firefighters in Bellvue, Colorado. www.rcvfd.org(click to visit their website!)
Feel free to watch the video below of the 2014 Richard Schmid Fine Art Auction and Mountain Festival! If you were unable to attend, now you can feel like you were there! Thanks goes to all who participated, set up this event, sold books, crafts, and volunteered their time and talents, especially the fine artists who willingly gave of themselves and their craft to make this year's event highly successful!
Thanks to Richard Schmid, an internationally known artist, the Rist Canyon Volunteer Fire Department has been benefitting for close to 20 years from his dedication to the arts and providing an event and venue that assists in fundraising for their department. They receive NO government funding and rely each year on the generous support of artists, art connoisseurs and the community.
