submitted for bid "Rocky Mountain Winter" Clark graduated in Architecture from Montana State University where his early paintings were architectural tempera renderings of his own building designs as well as other architects. His interest in oils began in 1981. He later studied under Billings, MT artist Hall Diteman, a mentor to Charles Fritz and Clyde Aspevig. He has attended workshops from Aspevig, Jim Wilcox, Tucker Smith, Robert Bateman, George Strickland, and Ralph Oburg to name just a few.
He has received numerous awards and his paintings are in many private collections regionally. Now residing near Cody WY, Clark is represented by the Cody Art League, the Red Lodge (MT) Depot Gallery and Nature’s Wonders Art Gallery in Bridger MT.
Notable auctions and shows include the C.M. Russell Art Auction, the J.K. Ralston Auction, the Yellowstone Art Museum’s annual auction and the Rocky Mountain Annual Juried Show. In addition six of his paintings were selected for the Top 100 and Mini 50 in both the PaintAmerica and Paint the Parks contests. He recently attained the PaintAmerica Association Signature Society (PPA) status, only one of 34 to do so nationally.
