Connie Tom

Artwork submitted for bid
at our September 6, 2009
auction:

.
"Sunset At Grand Falls"
22"x34", Oil on canvas
Gallery Price: $1600

Connie's career as a nationally recognized artist began in 1978. She has written and published four books on painting in oils and conducted many workshops at her studio and in several locations in the US. The desire to express the beauty, glory and grace of the Creator in His Creation is the strength of the passion that drives Connie Tom to paint the landscapes she paints today.

Having done many indepth studies of the Hudson River School masters and their philosophies, she now incorporates the techniques she learned into her present day subject matter. As with them, so with her...light, color mood and atmosphere are of major importance in her work, Connie is fast becoming known for her luministic landscapes. She capitalizes on sunrises and sunsets. Autumn is her favourite season to paint.

Long before Connie ever knew there was a Hudson River School, she painted in the style and subject matter or the Hudson River School artists, who lived back in the 1800's. So after discovering them, she felt such a passionate association with their art and their philosophies, that she felt almost like she was an artist born out of time and an extension. But the artist attributes that it is the time she spends each morning in prayer and devotionals that guides her heart and spirit in her paintings.

Nationally recognized for her paintings of nature and wildlife, Connie Tom's works are collections in art exhibitions, galleries, private and major art collections worldwide. Connie is a professional artist who is a juried member of both the NOAPS (National Oil and Acrylics Painters' Society) and the OPA (Oil Painters' of America). Her work has been in Southwest Art Magazine and she has shown in professionally juried art shows as the National Western and Wildlife Art Collectors' Exhibition in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

This work "Sunset at Grand Falls" is beautifully customed framed. The painting was inspired from Grand Falls located in Arizona.

She lives and works out of her studio in Willard, MO.
