Education and Personal History:

Born:               September 8, 1940
1959-1960:    Attended college (University of Houston, North Texas State

                        University), taking drawing and design classes

1961-1962:    Studied Illustration at Art Center School, Los Angeles, CA

1962-1966:    U.S. Navy. Trained and worked as photographer

1966-1969:    Commercial photographer and darkroom technician

1969-1997:    Computer programmer/analyst/software engineer

1992-present: Resumed career as artist.  Studied painting with Kevin Macpherson, John Encinias, Scott Christensen, Marlin Linville, Matt Smith and others.

Artist’s Statement:

            Although I am an artist who paints primarily from life, my goal is not to reproduce nature, but to faithfully reproduce the effect that nature has on me.  If I can evoke a similar response in the viewer then I have successfully shared the experience.
