I am an American painter living and working in NW Montana in all seasons. The concepts for my work come from the path that I walk and the environment around me. My landscape paintings are an attempt to share the experience of moments spent in nature, especially in Montana. At times I am attracted by the fall of light on communities and structures and I am compelled to include evidence of the human presence. Still Life subjects give me a change of pace, a chance to experiment, and encourage deeper study.I also like to travel and these experiences will show up in my work.While my paintings are representational, I paint directly and suggest essential detail.
