"Sequoia Spring" George Kyle maintains studios in Fullerton, California, and Antibes, France, finding inspiration in the traditional genres of figure, landscape, seascape, and still-life painting. His work has been exhibited from Kyoto, Japan, the Principality of Monaco, Los Angeles, and Scottsdale to name a few. He holds a master’s degree in Art from California State University, Fullerton, as well as degrees in French and German languages from Indiana State University. In 1979 he founded the Art Department at Irvine Valley College in Irvine, California, where he remained as a popular professor of painting and drawing for the next twenty-five years teaching a wide range of courses. Past exhibitions include several in California at the John Thomas Gallery formerly of Santa Monica, and Fullerton; the Orlando Gallery in Sherman Oaks; The Irvine Fine Art Center; Galerie Rene Laporte, Antibes, France. He has participated in several international and national exhibitions and his paintings are in private and public collections in the United States, Tokyo, Paris, and Cannes, France. Juried competitions include the “Grand Prix International de Peinture” in Monaco as well as several “Best and Brightest” exhibitions at the Scottsdale Artists School where he received an award for painting and a scholarship. Inclusion in the upcoming 16th annual Richard Schmid Fine Art Auction on Sunday, September 4th, 2011, represents the fourth time that a work of Kyle's has been personally selected by Mr. Schmid.
