Jeanne Hougen- Oil Painter
www.jeannehougen.com
Jeanne Hougen grew up in the Colorado mountains admiring her father's artwork. Those early experiences have blossomed into a love of painting outdoors (en plein air).
Jeanne's artistic style is described as representational, with an impressionistic flair. She loves to capture light and its unique effect on color in everyday scenes. Jeanne says "My paintings are merely a reflection of the incredible artwork that God has already painted all around us and to capture and reflect a bit of it on canvas brings me great joy. My desire is to pass this awe and joy to all who view my work."
Jeanne lives with her husband, Glen and her four children, in Superior, Colorado which is located just outside of beautiful Boulder and not far from downtown Denver. She started painting more seriously in 2006, the year she had her first show.
Since then she has learned by attending workshops with nationally known painters, Clyde Aspevig, William Scott Jennings, Kevin MacPherson, Calvin Liang, Kevin Wechbach and John Budicin. Jeanne has been juried into numerous national shows, where she has won multiple awards, and has participated in local plein air events.
