After moving to Nashville in the pursuit of music, Johnny discovered his love of art in the Winter of 2005 while walking through a valley of depression in his life. In that cold month of January, he picked up a pencil and made an attempt to draw a friend from a photograph. Through that experience is when he found his great passion for art. He has just recently completed his fourth year in study of portraiture/still life at Southgate Studio of Fine Art in Franklin, TN., under the supervision of artist Jody Thompson, who mentored under the world renown artist Daniel Greene. Johnny has also participated in a workshop given by national portrait artist Dawn Whitelaw. He now resides and paints full time in his hometown of Marietta, Oklahoma.
