A resident of Colorado for most of her life, Lori's art reflect her fascination for the sublime beauty and quiet power of the west. The western horse, wildlife and landscapes are the focus of her oil paintings. Lori studied art and geology at Colorado State University, but believes her greatest teacher has been that of observation and experience. Lori utilizes rich colors and the dramatic play of light and shadow in her paintings to recreate the vibrant energy of a moment. An active outdoors person and horsewoman, Lori paints from her own personal experience. Lori's style is strongly influence by past masters of the Hudson River School and contemporaries Tucker Smith, Michael Coleman and Colorado's Jay Moore. Her award winning work has received national recognition in juried shows for the OPA, American Academy of Equine Art, Paint the Parks Top 100, Scottsdale Salon, and Salon International.
