Maria Nash was born in Brazil, Goias 1968.Since early childhood Maria’s artistic talents amazed her family . Besides that they did not encourage her to pursue an artist career. Maria had a conservative father that had other plans for his daughter .He knew that the difficult economy in Brazil in those days did not offer good perspective to fine artists..

When Maria was 18, She started a job that made her a well-known fashion designer in the capital of her state, Goiania. One year later to fulfill her parents dreams Maria enrolled in a civil engineering college. Maria tried really hard to forget about her artistic drive, but that was impossible, So a year later she drop out of college to follow her own dreams. In 1991 at the age of 23, she successfully participated in a fashion design contest and had her name published in a national magazine. This was a big accomplishment but Maria had other plans, she wanted to be a fine artist .

The following years were long and difficult to Maria but besides this she kept her dreams alive. Maria could never attend an art college or art workshop . Her choice brought a lot of financial consequences but despite all difficulties she took her self-instruction seriously. Her desire to achieve the high knowledge of the fine arts was almost an obsession. Late nights ,early mornings, struggle and frustration and no teachers or mentors to ask for a light just her beloved books that she still has.

Ten years ago, she moved to new jersey and her dedication and determination made Maria a award winner artist well-known in south and north America specially in the tri-state area. Her artwork can be found in private collections throughout the United States, Canada and Brazil.
