Several years ago, I began to devote myself full time to painting from my studio at the Sunset Center Gallery in Amarillo, Texas. I once again became a student, and have been studying plein air and studio oil painting with award-winning landscape artists through private instruction and an intensive mentoring program. The opportunity to work with such strong mentors, who have a view of painting that blends so well with my own, has been a great gift that has helped me to move forward as an artist. I seek to capture the mood of a place as well as its beauty.

In 2009, I received two Best of Show awards at the Best of the Southwest spring and fall shows sponsored by the Amarillo Fine Arts Association. One of my paintings is held in the permanent collection of the Laura Bush Institute for Women’s Health in Amarillo.
