Todd was born in Grimsby, Ontario Canada in 1969. He moved to Calgary, Alberta in 1989 to persue a career in Long Track Speed Skating. Putting art on hold for several years, Todd gained gallery representation in 2000 and has been a professional artist since then. Todd has private and corporate collections all over Canada, The United States, Europe, Russia and Japan.
 
"I have made an effort to self educate and change paths artistically. I try to seek out the best representational art and learn from it. I discovered Richard Schmid, Molly Schmid, Nancy Guzik and Jeremy Lipking only a couple of years ago. Seeing there art has enlightened me and I choose to now focus on painting what I see.
 
I learned a strong sense of design, colour and composition from my predecessors,  Tom Thomson and The Group of Seven. Adding these fundamentals to the hard work I've been putting into accurately representing my subjects can only help me keep improving my artwork."
